What is ZS4 "Motion PNG"?
ZS4 advertises as a "format" feature the input/output of "Motion PNG". this really is nothing more than a sequence of PNG still images embedded in an AVI file format. this is done in the same fashion as motion JPEG is typically embedded in avi.
the essential logic was lifted from www.libpng.org under their license (only the Portable Network Graphics "PNG image format", and NOT the mng stuff) the kool thing about the combination of PNG with AVI (to me) is that i can "clean up" a video clip with shoddy chroma-key backdrop using a multiple key effects and an expensive edge smoother and store the result as a MPNG/AVI file for later use in other projects. It is the ability to save video WITH transparency Note: if you are unable to import your mpng compressed files back into ZS4, rename the file with a .zsv extension. You can also use a zsv extension when you export a video file. This extension allows ZS4 to use its internal codecs to read the file instead of wmp (on windows). |
