HDV support

Does ZS4 support high definition video? If not, will it be implemented?

HDV partially supported

HDV frame rates and frame dimensions are supported. In ZS4 you can create video at any arbitrary dimensions by setting the dimensions of the appropriate mixer track. (Pressing the [i] button of the track and setting the dimensions in the upper window pane.)

Encoding MPEG2 (part of HDV) is not supported, since ZS4 is a compositing/editing tool and not an encoding utility.

HDV support

May be this is a stupid question, but I just started to look at ZS4:

Does ZS4 accept a HDV-file as an input file?

What will the output format be?

use converter

HDV, *.vob and other MPEG2 based formats can not be directly imported or exported from ZS4. Use a converter like mencoder ( http://www.thugsatbay.com/tab/?q=tab-video-converter-encoder ) or similar to prepare input files for ZS4.

Thank you for your help.

High Def, Panasonic HVX200 support? Sanyo Xacti HD1?.

I'm looking for an edit solution that will let me work with Panasonic HVX200 P2 card backups.

My process is to shoot on a P2 card, then when it's full, back it up to a Hard drive, and burn a DVD of the contents.

I want to able to import the contents of those backups into the edit bins and go right to work on them.

I also occasionally do B-Roll with a Sanyo Xacti HD1. It's only MP4 but sometimes it works.

Is anyone else using 720P footage in ZS4 from either of these formats?
